My name is Donna Roberts my life journey led me to the art of face painting in 2019 when I was asked to fill in as a face painter for a month long event in October. I fell in love with the instant smiles that are created by making imaginations both big and small come to life. Hence Brushed With Whimsy was born. Through the years I have added glitter & temporary tattoos. In addition, I have been Federally fingerprinted, background checked and received my Covid-19 Vaccines. These factors can put your mind at ease when welcoming me into your home or event.
I have a list of services that can accommodate your needs. I service Oswego County and the surrounding areas.
I only apply professional grade make-up to the face and body. The paints I use have been formulated with FDA approved pigments for cosmetic application. Although the paints are considered relatively harmless to the skin, there may be irritation or allergic reaction if applied to sensitive skin. If you know you or your child has sensitive skin please opt for one of the other services that are offered.
My Kit: Predominately I use Fusion Body Art paints which are vegan (V). I supplement my paint colors with other professional paints including: Diamond FX (V), Fab, Global (V), Superstar, and Tag (V). I do like to use mixed media and add powders to my creations. The powders I use are Ben Nye Lumiere Powders (V) and Superstar Blends to create depth and add a magical shine, especially around the eye area. All face paints are gluten and perfume free.
Face Paint Removal:
Face paints can be removed easily with just soap and water. You can use a soft sponge or cloth to help you with the removal process. Always start by coating the skin with a thin layer of gentle facial soap. Once you have worked the soap into the face paint, then proceed to rinse. You might need to repeat this process a few times in order to remove all of the paint. Always make sure to be gentle as excessive rubbing of your skin can cause irritation. Also, it is suggested not to use scented baby wipes as the primary remover since the perfume can cause allergic reactions. If any stains are left on the skin, consider using lotion or baby oil. You might need to let the lotion or baby oil set in for a few minutes before wiping it off. In the rare case in a stain is still visible after this process, please wait 24 hours before attempting to wash off the area again. Normal sweating and oil production from your skin will aid in the removal process, as well as rubbing against your sheets while you sleep.
The material safety data sheets can be found here for all the paints that are used. If interested in finding out more, use the link to check it out.
